Can you help me if I am not biologically female?
Absolutely! My passion is working with anyone who identifies as a woman, including trans women and members of the LGBTQIA community. Therapy with me is a safe and welcoming space for you to come as you are.
Are therapy sessions online or in-person?
At this time, all services are offered via telehealth only. I see clients who live anywhere in New York or Connecticut. Telehealth, or online therapy, allows for the same level of quality and care as in-person sessions but from the comfort of your home.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance. Upon request, should you choose to use out-of-network benefits, I can give you a superbill at the end of every month to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company, and you may be reimbursed. Be sure to check with your insurance provider regarding out-of-network benefits before starting therapy.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
I believe in being fully transparent with my clients. It’s important for you to know the pros and cons of using out-of-network benefits for therapy versus paying privately for therapy. Assuring your privacy and giving you the best treatment possible are my priorities.
Should you choose to use your out-of-network benefits, I am required to give you a mental health diagnosis that will become a part of your health record. Your insurance plan may dictate the number of sessions that you can have and if you’re able to see me via telehealth. Your insurance company can also ask me for records of the content of our sessions. Should you choose to pay privately, a mental health diagnosis is not required and there is no limit on frequency and duration of sessions imposed on our treatment. You are also free to see me online or in-person when insurance is not involved so your privacy and records are protected.
How do you know we will be a good fit?
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call to make sure! I want you to feel as comfortable as possible going into our first session together. If for some reason we discover on our phone call that I’m not the best fit for you and your needs, I will happily connect you to other therapists who may be a better fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
